Description of mushrooms in the Luga region
In the Luga region, mushroom spots have remained constant for many years. Forest mushrooms growing in them are divided into 4 taste categories:
- with a strong characteristic odor: some types of whites, all types of breasts, fawn and saffron milk cap;
- with a less strong smell, but a delicate taste: oily, boletus, Polish and all kinds of champignons;
- with a weak aroma and average taste characteristics: honey agarics, moss mushrooms, morels;
- with a bitter aftertaste - all conditionally edible mushrooms.
The first two taste categories are most often used in cooking.
From 3 groups prepare sauces, grind into a homogeneous mass for pastes, use in appetizers for appetizers.
Delicious pickles are obtained from the 4th group. It does not differ in bright aroma and therefore pepper, bay leaf, cloves and other ingredients are added to them. As a result, pickled or salted mushrooms are unique.
Luga district differs from other places in stable crops. All summer and autumn these places delight lovers of “forest hunting” with a variety of types of “forest meat”.
Summer and group
The artillery range is famous for a huge variety of mushrooms. The most popular summer species include:
- oyster mushrooms;
In late spring, raincoats appear. On the soils of the landfill, they grow rapidly and multiply in the deciduous part.
When the grass turns green, the first hats of summer mushrooms begin to peek out, they bear fruit until October. They grow in groups, on stumps. It is better to cut off only hats, they have more vitamins and they are tastier.
Oyster mushrooms can usually be found on tree trunks or stumps.
Oilfans will delight their fans in mixed and pine forests. They hide under fallen leaves, in the shade of trees.
All kinds of whites appear closer to August. Wild boletus trees are best found in larch thickets.
It is best to pick mushrooms in September
It is better to pick mushrooms at the Luga training ground in early September, when it is still warm in summer. During this period, you can take porcini mushrooms and black mushrooms, mushrooms, mushrooms, boletus, autumn mushrooms and morels.
Sometimes on the lawns come across:
Popular mushrooms for pickling are valui, they belong to the family of russula and the group of conditionally edible mushrooms. They look attractive, but have an unpleasant taste and a sharp aroma.
At the Luga landfill, several non-edible species are found. These are poisonous fly agaric mushrooms, pale toadstools, satanic, bile mushrooms and yellow-skinned champignons, which attract newcomers with their bright appearance.
Talkers and gray floats are rare in these places. But pale grebes come across often, they can be confused with russula or openpenck.
Irina Selyutina (Biologist):
When picking mushrooms, you can accidentally send poisonous mushrooms to the basket in a hobby of “silent hunting”. To prevent this from happening, do not forget:
- False chanterelles are usually larger, have a poisonous orange color and secrete white juice on a break (cut);
- The bile fungus, in contrast to white, has a dark mesh on the surface of the leg;
- The satanic mushroom is the owner of a grayish velvety hat and an extremely thick leg of a bright reddish color, plus the flesh at the break in it turns red.
You should not touch everything in the forest with your hands, step on bare feet, tear and put in the basket. Poisonous pale grebe can poison all the mushrooms that touch it in the basket. Its toxins act quickly and strongly. At the first signs of poisoning, you must urgently consult a doctor.
In order not to confuse the noble white mushroom with its double - the bile fungus, see if the flesh changes its color. The aroma should be pleasant, and there should not be black dots on the leg.
