Variety of zucchini squash

Zuchesh squash is a variety of zucchini, the description of which indicates increased yields and increased shelf life. Thanks to these characteristics, the view of Tsukesh was widespread among summer residents.

Variety of zucchini squash

Grade characteristics

Zuchesh squash according to the description belong to early ripening, ripening for 40-50 days from the moment of planting. The time for sowing seeds falls in April - mid-May. They are planted both in a greenhouse and in open soil.

This varietal variety has excellent gastronomic characteristics, suitable for use in raw form and after preliminary heat treatment.

Fruits have a number of distinguishing features:

  • cylindrical shape;
  • the peel is smooth;
  • the color of zucchini peel is mainly dark green with light small dots;
  • the weight of vegetables is 0.9-1 kg, the average length is 0.3-0.4 m, the diameter is 10-12 cm;
  • the pulp is white, crispy, delicate in taste.

Advantages and disadvantages

Universal for growing a variety of zucchini squash has the following positive characteristics:

  • shortened (up to 45-50 days) growing season;
  • minimal climbing and lack of prickly foliage;
  • formed in a bushy form, which makes it possible to form a compact vegetable planting and save space;
  • harvest up to 10-12 kg;
  • seedlings appear simultaneously;
  • easily tolerates a decrease in temperature, which allows cultivating the variety in regions with a harsh climate;
  • differs by the increased shelf life of ripened fruits;
  • resistant to a number of common diseases.

no flaws. Zucchini require care in the process of care, vegetables should not overripe. At the stage of formation of inflorescences and fruiting, it is important to monitor the sufficient moisture of the soil.

The process of preparing seeds for planting begins with their preliminary soaking, it does not matter, it is planned to grow zucchini in a seedling method, or the seeds will be planted without preliminary germination.

When soaking seeds, summer residents resort to such drugs as humate and nitrophoska.

When soaking the seed material, spread it in fertilizers diluted to a liquid state and wait 1 day, after which the seeds soaked in fertilizers are transferred to a moistened tissue (for example, gauze) and they hold the seeds there for 2 days, regularly moistened with water. The optimum temperature regime during this period is 22 ° C.

Sprouting seedlings

Prepared zucchini squash seeds begin to be planted from the second half of April to the first third of May. Ready mixes are suitable for planting or a mixture prepared independently from humus and peat. Tanks with a volume of up to 0.2 l are filled with a substrate mixture, the substrate is moistened, and seeds are placed in it for 2-3 cm.

Humidity must be observed.

Optimal conditions for germinating seedlings:

  • maintaining the temperature at the level of 18-23 ° С, maximum temperature - 25 ° С;
  • regular watering every 5-7 days;
  • placement of containers with landings in a place illuminated by the sun;
  • humidity level - 70%.

When the first leaves appear, it is required to set the temperature mode not higher than 18-20 ° C, trying to reduce the degree at night to 15 ° C. When there are about 4-5 leaves on the sprouts, the hilling is carried out, which stimulates the growth of the lateral root processes.

Topping up seedlings is carried out 2-3 times:

  • a week after the emergence of sprouts;
  • after with an interval of 10 days.

For feeding zucchini seedlings, the following is suitable:

  • bud - 2 g of the drug are dissolved in water and the sprout is watered in an amount of 100 ml;
  • effon and nitrophoska - 1 tsp. 200 ml per sprout.

Transplanting sprouted entrances is carried out after a month.

Seat selection

Light soils are suitable for zucchini zucchini, where potatoes, legumes, onions or cabbage were previously grown. Zucchini is not planted on the ridges where pumpkins grew, because the cultivation of related vegetable crops leads to the accumulation of pathogens with the simultaneous extension of certain micro and macro components.

A ridge for planting a variety of zucchini squash is prepared in advance, digging it in the fall and adding organic and mineral fertilizer complexes containing phosphorus and nitrogen in high proportions. Before planting seeds or seedlings, the soil is dug up, form holes in which fertilizing is applied. Humus, fertilizer complexes and wood ash are suitable as top dressing.

Under unstable weather conditions, they are covered with plastic film or cut plastic bottles to protect squash plantings.

The depth of sowing seeds - from 5 cm. The width of the sowing - 0.7-0.9 m. I water directly formed holes, row spacings do not moisten. With high soil moisture make earthen ridges.

Caring for the Tsukesh variety does not differ much from caring for other varietal species of zucchini and includes the following main stages: watering, cultivating with the removal of weed vegetation, thinning bushes if necessary, and fertilizing with fertilizing.

Zucchini requires frequent watering up to 2 times a week only in dry weather. Under normal climatic conditions, root watering is required at intervals of 1 week. Each bush takes 1.5-2 liters.

The best time for watering is morning or evening hours.

Loosening and weed removal

Periodic loosening will increase crop yields

Loosening of soil prevents the formation of a dried soil crust, which interferes with the normal process of aeration of the plant root system. Weed vegetation significantly reduces yield indicators, as picks up a large proportion of the mineral components needed to nourish the vegetable crop. With frequent plantings, thinning is carried out, leaving 1 bush for every 0.7-0.9 m.

Top dressing

Complexes containing potassium and phosphate are suitable for feeding zucchini squash. It is also worth using a mullein. Fertilizer complexes that contain chlorine are not applicable, as it has a detrimental effect on the vegetable crop.

Tsukesha is usually fed three times for the entire vegetative period:

  • before the beginning of the flowering stage - 1 tbsp. l 1 L nitrophoski for one sprout;
  • at the flowering stage - 1 tbsp. l fertilizer complex per 1 liter for one bush;
  • at the stage of the appearance of the fruits - infusion of mullein or bird droppings, superphosphate, potassium sulfate or urea, 1 tsp each. 1 liter for the bush.

Every 10-12 days Tsukeshe needs foliar top dressing by spraying with urea solutions.

Features of the collection

Subject to the main planting dates, which fall in April - May, Tsukesh's zucchini varieties ripen by June - August. 10 days before harvesting, the plants stop watering, which ensures an increase in the shelf life of vegetables.

It is required to collect vegetables regularly as they grow, because overgrown fruits lose their gastronomic qualities and simultaneously absorb minerals, preventing the plant from bearing fruit.

The following diseases are dangerous for the Tsukesh zucchini variety, which has sufficient immunity:

  • powdery mildew;
  • anthracnose;
  • root rot.

To prevent disease, take care of the plantings and prevent their thickening. Onions and garlic planted along the perimeter allow you to fight the spread of infections. During the growing season with an interval of 1 week, plantings are treated with solutions with laundry soap or soda ash.

A slightly branching variety of zucchini with the name Tsukesh gives fruits of a dark green color with light specks. Vegetable is in demand among summer residents, because cultivated both in a greenhouse and in open ground. Seeds are sown mainly by the seedlingless method, however, it will be possible to accelerate harvesting if Tsukesh is planted with seedlings. The yield is high, and the harvested vegetables for a long time retain their original appearance and gastronomic qualities.
