Mushrooms are often harvested in birch groves, in mixed forests. In coniferous forests it grows less often.

Mushrooms grow mainly in colonies in the forests; they prefer wet but not wetlands. Plots should be well warmed up by the sun. Mushrooms hide in the grass, in moss, under pretty leaves, forming specific tubercles on the surface. Often, fruiting bodies are under the ground. In places of their growth, a specific smell appears: a mixture of aromas of mushrooms, fruits and horseradish.

In some areas, specimens of only a certain species grow, in others, there are different representatives of these fungi. It is good if the mushroom picker will know in what places it is worth looking for them, when it is better to go to the forest for this or that species.

White

Other names: real chest, raw. White breasts form mycorrhiza with birch. Sometimes they are found in a pine tree. Rarely grow alone. Nearby are most often grasses and shrubs, as well as plants such as strawberries, bracken, bonefruit.

Mushrooms grow in groups

Species habitats:

  • central regions of the European part of Russia;
  • Transbaikalia - near the city of Chita;
  • Western Siberia - Tyumen, the vicinity of Tobolsk, Surgut, part of the Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions, Altai Territory, etc.

The black

The second name is chernushka. Prefers places lit by the sun. Black breasts, like white ones, create a symbiotic union with birch. They are found in glades, roadsides, edges of glades, along streams.

Moisture accumulates on a black hat in wet weather due to the presence of a hairy edge. This mushroom belongs to the 3rd category of edibility and is used for salting. When salted, the hat of the black breast becomes wine-red. In Poland, a black lump is called "toadstool", but is still recognized as edible. Note. For salting, it is best to use young breasts whose hats in diameter do not exceed 7 cm and the leg length is 1 cm.

Collect chernushka in large quantities in such places:

Oak

It is found in oak forests, broad-leaved forests, where oaks and hazel, beech and hornbeams predominate. It grows in small groups. He loves humus loam. Ripening of the fruiting body goes underground. On the surface, it appears already mature. Collected in the middle lane and in the south, as well as in the Leningrad and Volgograd regions.

Aspen

Its second name is the poplar lactum. It occurs in deciduous forests, dominated by willows, aspen and poplar. Grows individually or in small groups. Find him at the bottom of ravines and in lowlands. The hat is white with pink and lilac zones. Fruiting lasts from mid-summer until the first frost. Collected in the Lower Volga region, in the floodplain of the Volga river, in the Volga region - the Kirov region.

Pepper

It is found in small colonies almost everywhere, especially in deciduous forests. It forms mycorrhiza with birch, oak, hazel and other tree species. Prefers well-drained clay soils. Harvested from mid-July to autumn frosts. Mass fruiting occurs in August - September.

Yellow

Looks like a real lump. It occurs in the northern part of coniferous or spruce-fir forests. Prefers moist clay soil.

A pile of yellow is very often called a "load of yellow." Coniferous and less often birch forests habitual for him. The pulp of the fungus is white, yellowing on a slice, like the white caustic milky juice present in the pulp (when it comes into contact with air in dry weather, it turns yellow, but in rainy weather it does not). The taste of pulp is sharp, the smell is fruity. Use this type of mushrooms salted and pickled. To his taste, he is no different from a real loaf. Like a real chestnut, the yellow chestnut traditionally belongs to the best mushrooms, although it is called conditionally edible due to the presence of caustic milky juice.

It grows from August to October, which is convenient for mushroom pickers. At the end of this period, the yellow lump can no longer be found. It occurs in the northern regions of Russia: Irkutsk, Sakhalin, Murmansk and other areas.

Turning blue

Also known as a golden yellow chest. He has the same hat as a lump of yellow, but the milky juice that stands out at the break has a characteristic purple color, as well as its rare plates. It is found in coniferous and deciduous forests. It grows individually or in groups. Hiding under the leaves. Collected from mid-August until almost the time until snow falls.

Conclusion

It is better to go on a quiet hunt in the morning, while there is still dew (5-6 hours). Mushroom hats are shiny and more visible at this time. They are clearly visible after the rain. Beside one specimen, others can grow, so it is worth finding one to carefully look around.

Knowing where they grow, you can quickly harvest a good crop. If you go far behind them, it is worth trying to grow mushrooms at home. Often this is done in the country. They will delight yields for a long time if the autumn is warm and rainy.
