Martial Pigeon Breeds

Slaughter pigeons are birds endowed with a beautiful appearance and special flight technique. The flight of live pigeons is beautiful. Especially famous are the fighting pillar varieties.

Birds of the world are unpretentious to the conditions of detention, due to which they are able to survive even in remote places. In Russia there are so many more breeds that it is difficult to count them.

War pigeons

Training for live pigeons is a must on the daily routine.

Where did such an interesting bird name come from? No, they do not participate in battles, a battle is a special sound that birds make during a flight. They beat with wings, due to which noise is heard.

All live breed birds are high-flying and playing: they are able to rise to a height of 20-25 m.

Differences between war pigeons and gray ones

Pigeon warriors do somersaults in the air during the flight, accompanying this movement with the clicks of wings through the air. Ordinary gray-winged winged can not boast of such skills. By the third month of development, fighting individuals are already formed and ready to fly, however, they reach their peak form only in the third year of life. Among poultry farmers, it is believed that an adult is more valuable than a young and inexperienced one.

In Russia, many species of birds are known, such as the Chebarkul, Stavropol, Volzhsky Red-breasted, the Tryasuns of Kazan, the Beetles of Voronezh, Yeisk, Rostov, and Two-Chubs. Agasievsky individuals are popular in Ukraine.

Today, birds are bred all over the world, in Russia there are many breeding zones in Rostov, Donetsk, and the Kuban in the Stavropol Territory, where many varieties of live breeds are successfully bred.

The following types are most popular:

  • Persian
  • Southern
  • Leninakan;
  • Turkish
  • Leushkovsky;
  • Asian.

These are the best representatives of pigeons, and they will be discussed later.

Types of Live Doves

Persian (Iranian)

The most popular and common type is Persian. Its second name is Tehran.

The Persian is also called milk-bearer because of the short beak that stands out in the photo. Short-billed in Russia in special honor. They are appreciated by lovers and connoisseurs of the birds of the world. Such an individual has an elegant structure and is distinguished by external beauty. The color is diverse, standing out from a bird's eye view, so this breed is often compared with a hawk. Short-billed fighting flight pigeons Persians will decorate any collection and will take part in exhibitions.

Iranian Species - Heady, Tickled. Their appearance as a whole does not differ from other species. The only feature is the plumage on the legs and the pattern on the head and cheeks, so individuals are sometimes called tadpoles. In the air they are slow and calm. Iranian pigeons are not complete without going out into the pillar. The battle in these birds is unusual and easily recognizable, it is fixed for a few seconds, and you can hear the sound at any height. The flight lasts long enough, sometimes about 10 hours.

Southern pigeons

In the Krasnodar Territory, the North Caucasian species is widespread. Krasnodar war pigeons, or North Caucasian Molokans, amaze with the brightness of colors. Caucasians have an incredible variety of species: white-throated, colored, white-bearded, white-headed cosmos. Krasnodar, or North Caucasian fighting pigeons, can have different crests or beak lengths, as well as different degrees of plumage of legs.

Black-tailed, red-tailed and yellow-tailed chubate fighting species also belong to Caucasian pigeons. Yellow and black combine the qualities of decorative and flying individuals. Black and marble look beautiful in flight, especially if they are wide-tailed individuals. Black Caucasian, or fighting pigeons of Chile, are popular both in their homeland and in Russia. A variety of Chile is also called Baku.

In Armavir in the 17th century, the Armavir white-headed cosmos were first bred and later described. Just at this time, winged with plumage of various colors appeared on the territory of Stavropol. Such birds were used for breeding, and the result was an Armavir white-headed. There are 4 subspecies of this breed, which are characterized by a slender figure, the finest beak and beautiful plumage, which shimmers and shines in the sun.

Leninakan pigeons

The Leninakan bird species is especially appreciated by professionals and breeders from Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Russia. Leninakan pigeons are miniature individuals. Even when the birds are at a decent distance from the ground, during the flight, a characteristic sound of the clicking of wings is heard. Such a species is considered freedom-loving, and therefore it is not worth keeping it in a cage.

When transporting birds over long distances, they should be accustomed to being in a cage in advance.

Turkish pigeons

In Turkey, the most popular breed is Takla. She is so hardy that she can survive even in the most severe conditions. It is difficult to see and capture such individuals in the photo precisely because they live in inaccessible corners of Turkey.

The flight of the winged is long enough. Because of this, Takla herself loses coordination and abruptly flies down. Often she is so keen on somersaults in the air that she loses her balance. Martial pillars are valued for playing wings in the air - that famous “battle”.

Asian pigeons

Central Asian representatives are popular in Russia for having a short beak and brilliant plumage. Central Asia occupies a leading place in the breeding of livestock breeds. The Asian breed is based on the Uzbek variety of pigeons. Short-billed Central Asian pigeons come from Turkmenistan, which is famous for the Agharans and Asanas. The Uzbek Gulbadams, or Snow-white kings, are also always held in high esteem.

Tashkent, Afghan, Armenian and Andijan are appreciated by amateurs around the world. Many breeders want to get such breeds of Asian pigeons in their collection, because it was Tashkent individuals that laid the foundation for many species of birds.

Bukhara pigeons bred in Central Asia and later brought to Russia are very beautiful. Short-billed flight bewitch their flight.

Leushkovo war pigeons

Leushkovo war pigeons have an unusual plumage, for which the people are called "birds with boots." Leushkovsky individuals are popular with breeders.

Content Features

Winged people need constant training to feel confident in the air, so experienced breeders are mainly involved in breeding and rearing birds. It is worth stocking up with patience and a lot of strength and nerves. For training, it is recommended to choose individuals with inconspicuous coloring, as they have more stable indicators and quality data. During training, you can record videos to be able to compare the results.

Keeping a slaughter pigeon on the farm is not subject to everyone, because its acquisition is fraught with taking responsibility. It is necessary to conduct constant training with the bird, otherwise it will lose its skills and will not be any different from an ordinary gray relative. Competitions are won only by trained individuals.
