Grapes Carnival

Grade characteristics

The fruits ripen in late July or early August for 110 days from the time of vegetation. The variety has good yield, increased frost resistance and resistance to fungal diseases.

According to the description of the variety, the bush is medium-sized. Leaves of standard size. The clusters are large, cylindrical or conical in shape. The weight of 1 bunch is 700 g. Under good weather conditions, the weight can reach 1 kg.

The berries are large, bright red, the shape is elongated-oval or cylindrical, often there is an interception in the center. The length of the berry reaches 5 cm, weight up to 16 g. The pulp is medium density, juicy and crispy, has a sweet-sour taste.

The peel does not crack, the fruits are able to be stored on the bushes until the first frost, are not affected by wasps. They perfectly tolerate transportation, have a good presentation.

Cultivating varieties

Before growing Carnival grapes, consider the climatic features of your region. If the winters are not snowy but frosty, plant the grapes in a pit or trench. If winter is snowy and summer is short and cool, create bulk beds and plant seedlings in them. Pits protect the root system from frost, bulk beds provide the plant with heat in the summer months.

According to the description of the variety, grapes are planted in spring and autumn. It all depends on the selected planting material. The easiest option for planting seedlings - in the fall in the holes.

Landing

Plant needs sunlight

  1. First, choose a well-lit, calm, not dry, even place for landing.
  2. We dig a hole the size of the root system.
  3. At the bottom of the hole we lay out organic and complex mineral fertilizers, fill it with a layer of gravel from above and lay twigs or planks. Also use wood shavings, it is needed to preserve soil moisture.
  4. We install a tube with a diameter of about 15 cm. It will serve as a means for watering the grapes and fertilizing the plant.
  5. On top of wood shavings, branches or pieces of wood, pour a small layer of earth.
  6. Before planting the cuttings, lower the roots into the prepared solution. Humus is mixed with clay, in a ratio of 1: 2.
  7. We cut the shoots at several points at the top and dip in melted paraffin.
  8. Then we put the seedling in the hole and spread its roots. We fill the remaining soil with plants and gently ram.
  9. Next, pour grapes with warm water and mulch the hole with humus or compost.

When planting several bushes, leave a distance between them of not less than 1.5 m. If there is a minimum slope on the site, then plant grapes on the south or south-west canopy, navigate in the south-north direction. If the site is flat, in any convenient place, build a solid fence from a profiled sheet, the height of which will be about 2 m, navigate east-west.

Care Features

To correctly form the grape bush of the breeder Pavlovsky variety, a trellis is installed. The simplest design: 2 columns of wood or metal, on which several rows of wire are stretched. Creepers, as they grow, are carefully tied to the wire, independently directing the vine to grow.

The first three years of the cuttings require a lot of attention. After a couple of days after rain or after watering, carefully scoop up the ground. Carefully monitor the level of humidity, remove weeds. A three-year-old vineyard is watered about 4 times during the whole season at the time of the most important phases of plant growth.

Carnival requires periodic feeding through the tube and on the sheets. Prevention of the disease, which is carried out using special fungicides, is required. It is important to carefully inspect the plants in order to avoid the appearance of dangerous diseases or parasites that can lead to the death of the entire bush.

In the fall, after the leaves fall, grapes are cut. As soon as the first night frosts appear, the vines are removed from the supports and nailed with brackets to the ground. Then treated with a solution of copper sulfate and covered with a plastic film.

Do not rush to open grapes in the spring. Remove film after rapid temperature changes have stopped.

About 10 days before the time of flowering, stop watering the grapes, otherwise excessive humidity contributes to the shedding of flowers, reduces the rate of ripening of fruits.

Conclusion

Growing grapes from Pavlovsky’s selection is a complex process, but quite feasible if you take into account the description of the variety and follow the technology. With this approach, after a few years you can enjoy the juicy fruits.
